What I Focus on Expands
This past weekend, I attended an incredible workshop called Play to Win. It is one of 30 courses offered by a stellar company: Frontier Trainings. It is geared towards business owners, solo-professionals, entrepreneurs, and anyone looking to grow & build success in their company as well as increase their leadership skills and personal development. Through the playing of games, the course busted up many misleading and negative beliefs I had around my work, products, sales and marketing and has me re-aligned with success principles of the universe. One major breakthrough I had and have since got to share in the kids yoga classes I taught this week is: What we focus on EXPANDS!
In a class of 5-7 yr. olds, we were playing a non-competitive game called the Yoga Garden Game. It is a board game and the kids were cheering and chanting for the number that they did not want to show up in their roll, ie. “No 3, no 3, no 3!” They rolled the die, and number 3 showed up. Next turn, the same thing happened again…”no 5, no 5, no 5″, they rolled a 5.
It was a perfect opportunity to teach them about what we focus on expands. I invited them to focus on the numbers they did want to roll. So they changed their mantra and bam, they rolled the number they wanted! Same thing next roll. Magic, we all agreed!
I also got to share this same principle with a group of 8-10 yr. old kids that I was teaching about affirmations. Same principle…and they too totally got it!
I am mindful of my language because what I focus on and say, expands!
